It’s another busy week on the podcast and there’s plenty to get through following a chequered week for English sides in the Champions League. The lads discuss whether Arsenal are back following their run of good form, while Chelsea’s latest defeat will only heap pressure on young manager Andre Villas-Boas. Meanwhile Ger enjoys his weekly pop at Manchester City and the general consensus is that their equally unimpressive rivals Manchester United may not go much further in this year’s competition.
In the second part of the show attentions turn to the recent MLS Cup Final in Los Angeles where Michael was reporting for BackPageFootball in an official capacity. There’s discussion on Robbie Keane’s impact on MLS so far while Michael explains how the Galaxy have done following their Beckham experiment.
To finish off, Michael reviews the Portland Timbers’ season, a team that has garnered its fair share of supporters around the world following their sold out games and partisan atmosphere in their first full season of Major League Soccer.
