The pod starts off with discussion around the European playoffs for next year’s World Cup with Neil openly devastated that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has missed out. The Messi/Ronaldo debate rears its ugly head, while there is, maybe surprisingly, no ill feeling towards France following their win over Ukraine.

Ireland have now played a couple of fixtures under Martin O’Neill (and Roy Keane), and the lads are generally pleased with the early signs after a win and a draw. Both Paul and Willie are pleased with the decision to move Mark Wilson to the centre of the defence, and believe nice foundations have been laid ahead of 2014.

This weekend’s Premier League fixtures are the final talking point some big games including the Merseyside Derby which could be more interesting than it has been in recent seasons. There’s a split on opinion when it comes to who can win the Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur game, while the Stoke City and Sunderland battle also gets the once over.
