Hold The Back Page: Episode 6

by Neil Sherwin

Hold the Back Page no. 6 has landed, just as the Irish team touch down in Armenia. And it’s it’s right there that we spend most of this week’s Pod.

Your regular host, the Irish Sunday Mirror’s Ciarán Ó Raghallaigh, is joined once more by Neil Ahern of the Irish Indo, to pick through the bones of the thrilling transfer window that was ‘slammed’ shut on Tuesday, with mixed results. They deal with such big name moves as Asamoah Gyan, Rafael van der Vaart and erm, Ian Harte. Anthony Stokes’ move to Celtic also gets a look in.

Then it’s onto the International special and it’s two Ireland players on the line – current centre half Sean St Ledger spoke exclusively to HTBP before jetting off, and tells us just how much alike he and Fabio Cannavaro are.

Former Ireland striker turned pundit Richard Sadlier is also on the line, and gives a great insight to the challenge that Giovanni Trapattoni faces to keep his footballing legacy intact.

Download here, and don’t forget to spread the word.
