Hold the Back Page: Episode 15
[audio:http://www.archive.org/download/Bpf15/bpf15.mp3]
On Hold the BackPage this week we’re like Maicon’s head on Tuesday night – all over the place.
First things first, and we’ve an announcement – and that’s Chris McWilliams is taking over from Neil Ahern in the sidekick’s seat. Neil has gone off clocking air mileage around the world, while Chris is no stranger to the podcast.
Getting stuck in right away, we start with our head in the news clouds, looking at the canonisation of Gareth ‘monkeyboy’ Bale, Brian Kerr’s possible move from the Faroes Islans to the Toon, as well as a pro footballer’s bizarre allergy to grass.
We then reach for the Sabr-tooth comb to look at Liverpool’s new Director of Football strategy, Damien Comolli, and chat with Rory Smith of the Daily Telegraph about the potential Reds Sox revolution.
Then it’s across the way to a club who have no need to look for ‘bargains’ in the transfer market and speak with Manchester correspondent Mark Ogden about Manchester City’s recent implosion both on and off the field.
Paul O Hehir from the Irish Daily Mirror is with us, Reeling in the Season, with a look back – and forward – over the League of Ireland season, discussing worthy title winners Shamrock Rovers and the futures of Bohemians, Sporting Final – and a mooted return to a Winter season.
There’s the regular ‘Tweet the Press’ section, as well as our betting competition ‘Tip/Off‘ with this week’s game the Liverpool v Chelsea clash at Anfield.
