It’s outrageous to compare Messi and Ben Arfa.

He’s talented, he’s still quite young, and has a lot of potential – but he’s no Ben Arfa.

He is an extremely talented player, but the best Premier League Frenchman in a decade? Nah. I would say Thierry Henry and Robert Pires were the best. But with the French players in the league now, I’d say he’s probably the best – yes, better than Nasri.

Although Yohann Cabaye deserves a special mention, he’s so underrated and has done a lot for Newcastle this season. (just forget the red card + ban against Brighton)

There is no way that Ben Arfa should even be mentioned as the top Frenchman to have graced the Premier League. When he goes on to win a title and done it for more than two games then we can have this debate again. I might be biased but Henry has to be up there, further back you have Ginola and of course around the same time the genius that is Cantona.

Whoa! Slow down a bit. There has been a lot of hype about Ben Arfa throughout his career and he is yet to consistently sustain a run of form. Certainly very talented but wouldn’t even say he is the most talented from the French class of ’87 playing in the Prem (Diaby, Nasri).

This is a big year for him particularly if he gets back in the France squad but lets see what he can really do before we start comparing him to Henry, Cantona, Messi, Ect.

He’s a mesmerizing, majestic, mercurial, magical talent, a talisman for the Toon and Pardew seems to be getting the best from him. I hope he becomes our Cantona, our Henry, because he has the ability. To be mentioned alongside names like Ginola, Henry and Cantona, then you must be specail. Vive La France and HWTL!!

i agree, although im a massive nufc fan, and HBA is fast becoming my fav player since solano, he is still in and out of games,

he has any amount of skill, he needs another full year to fully open up,

but for me right now,

cantana, herny , and one mr ginola, still have the edge over HBA, but it will change, HBA will be not far behind messi
