I’m happy Villas-Boas come in because this lad really deserved a chance.

No doubt Harry is a good coach but he doesn’t rotate his squad to give chances to good young player like Dos Santos to prove himself. Anyone you watch Spurs knows this.

Giovani joined Racing with them in 14th and they finished 12th relying on the 9th best defensive record in the league.

And as I said, with his 5 goals and 2 assists he showed fleeting glimpses, but nowhere near enough for them to enquire about him the next season, either permanently or on loan.

Unlike you, I wouldn’t really say that coonstitutes “single handedly saved them from relegation.”

So i’d suggest before you criticise, you do your own research better next time. But thanks for the comment.

To say that Giovani had “disappointing” spells at Ipswich and Racing is pretty much a metaphor for “I didn’t watch the games and know nothing of his performances so I’ll just say they were disappointing.

Giovani scored four goals in eight appearances for Ipswich and was a fan favorite despite only spending no more than 9 weeks there. At Racing, he single handedly saved them from relegation and was voted in to the Best XI for La Liga’s second half of the season signings.

I suggest you research your articles better next time.

Not likely, Gio has said himself that he becomes free in December, and once that happens, he is off to sunny Spain.
I dont think he owes squat to a club that although did pay him, did not play him.
Spurs need to sell and sell cheap. Gio has said that the club president only cares for money, that he wants to sell him for more than the original cost.
How does he figure that? Maybe Gio’s stellar performances with Mexico have kept his value intact.

He has the ability of Best but it has been clubs not booze and too early in his life. If only he tries he can seal a spot in the eleven and it’s not too late.

I always felt that Harry Redknapp never ever gave this player a chance. For some reason it seemed that Dos Santos never had a chance under Redknapp. The last couple of games i saw him play he played extremely well. In fact I was really impressed with him when he played in an Europa Cup game where he scored a goal and made one. He was fulfilling his defensive duties as well and I though he deserved man of the match. I really do hope AVB gives him a fair chance and stays at Spurs because he is definitely a player of the future.

Every damn year it’s the same thing.
“Will this be the year Dos Santos finally gets his chance”

And the same thing will happen, he will get a chance, play badly and disappear.

Not that I’m not wishing he suddenly becomes amazing, pulls on the new Spurs shirt and runs out and scores a hat trick every game.

It’s just a bit much to write the same thing every season. Replaced are the “This is going to be our season” blogs in July/August and replaced with “This is going to be Dos Santos’ season!”

I really hope this is the case. We have had to rely only on HR’s word that he didn’t train or focus enough for the team.
He obviously has the ability and with some work, may be AVBs best ‘new’ player.
