José Mourinho has made some well-publicised comments this week about his lack of goals up front, and that obviously has spurred on his front line to prove him wrong.
Specifically, Spain international Fernando Torres who was purchased from Liverpool for a British record £50m in January 2011. It is fair to say he hasn’t really paid that back yet but he has opened the scoring tonight in Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash with Galatasaray, in the first leg at the Turk Telecom Arena.
Torres passed the ball into an empty net from a square pass by fellow countryman César Azpilicueta to give Chelsea a vital away goal against the Turkish side, who had former Blues striker Didier Drogba in their ranks.
