Discs for Kits

by Back Page Football

Freekits is a new community initiative set up in the UK to help cash strapped teams acquire new numbered and individually sized kit (shirt, shorts and socks) for up to 16 players.

All teams need to do is collect 400 CDs and DVDs and trade them into musicMagpie who will collect the items and dispatch the kits, free of charge, within 14 days.

Five-a-side teams can also take part by collecting 200 CDs or DVDs in return for eight free kits.

Freekits is being supported by Xpro, a charity which works with footballers in the UK providing help and advice to former players who suffer from medical, psychological and welfare issues.

England’s 1966 World Cup winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks has leant his support to the campaign.

“This new initiative is an excellent way to help communities across the country work together to support their local teams,” he says.

“All the famous players, past and present, have started their careers at a grass roots level so Xpro are proud to be working alongside musicMagpie to give something back to these teams who continue to develop the talent we see today.”

Freekits is the new football campaign from musicMagpie, the UK’s leading cash for CDs, DVDs and Games website, allowing local squads to begin the season in style by netting themselves a free football kit for the season ahead.
