As a Gooner I couldn’t possibly thank a permed scouser for anything except for the memories of the 1971 FA cup final and Michael Thomas’ finest moment even if they deserve it.
I have to admit though it did stop us wearing fake silk scarfs round our wrists and Brutus Gold jeans with legs as wide as wheelie bins!
