Xavi does not belong on that team. He has only had one good game, and three quite average ones. So what if he made more passes than anyone else, how many of those passes were sideways to another player 5 meters away from him, or back to one of the defenders?

Spain likes to pass around the ball, and keep posession, doesn't mean their players who are passing around a lot are having a great game.

Iniesta has been far better than Xavi so far.

Pirlo in 2006 > Xavi in 2010, Pirlo in 2012 > Xavi in 2012. Just because Xavi plays on the same team as Messi and Iniesta, doesn't make him the best of his generation. Pirlo has had a better career than him, and showed in this tournament that he is a player who can drag a bad team to a semi final, while Xavi has had the likes of Iniesta, Fabregas and Xabi Alonso play next to him, and yet not be able to have one match (apart from the ireland one, but hey even Croatia beat them 4 something) where he really stands out.

good choices. but i'd replace De Rossi with Pepe. I read that 92% of his tackles were successful! beside this, he's a really tough guy playing an important role in real madrid and nationalteam. Plus: He scored a goal! :)
