I suspect Chairmen see Keane as too confrontational, controversial and smart for some of these appointments. I think he’s definitely due a shot elsewhere though. Granted he had money at Sunderland, but with parachute payments you do have the cash, Strachan spent a lot at Middlesborough and couldn’t get them promoted. Ipswich had a mostly miserable time of it under Jewell and Mick will do well to keep them up this season, how much of that’s Keane fault? They’ve been an underperforming side for ages.
I think it will take a nutty Chairman to hire Keane but he should be allowed another crack of the whip, How many jobs has Bryan Robson gotten over the years?
