Again, why bring United into it? I don't see why, just because I'm a United fan, Chelsea have to be compared to us.

I guess we'll see at the end of the season but my qualms over Chelsea's defence have been proven so far this season.. regardless of the fact that they're top their defence has certainly been their weak point.

I based it on the evidence that there's a video of John Terry saying the words.

In hindsight, your comment is very amusing considering he's just be done in for it. "Clumsy" doesn't seem like the correct word when I was stating a) an opinion and b) I turned out to be right.

I don't know why you feel the need to bring United into this. It's an article that's fully focussed on Chelsea and club allegiances don't really need to come into it.

As for the claim that I'm "unqualified to write" - who says I need to be? Many people on here don't have any sort of qualification and it's a place to share opinion.

Interestingly, it's clear you haven't read the article properly because I actually say it's the correct decision to appoint RDM because he won those cups but I don't think it'll work in the future.

Instead of being immature and handing out abuse, maybe read the article, consider it, and don't let childish club rivalries get to you, because it makes you look like you're 10.

When it happens to Chelsea everyone calls them "extremely lucky" but if United does the same thing everyone praises their "never say die" attitude or their "will to win".

And what were we supposed to do against Barca with Terry sent off? Play attacking football and get destroyed? I don't understand why anyone refuses to give Chelsea any credit for their incredible comeback.

"you can’t see their defensive style getting them anyway in the Premier League if employed over the whole season"

Which is why they bought Marin, Oscar and Hazard. By the way ,Jose Mourinho has used a very defensive style of football to win the league before.

"Di Matteo is more likely to lead Chelsea backwards than forwards"
Stopped reading after this.....

Poorly written article. Who are you to say that 'if justice is done in the John Terry racism case', were you presiding over it?

The case was sub-judice at the time and it is extremely clumsy of you to suppose a correct verdict one way or the other, based on any evidence that you might have seen.

Your nick, BEN THE RED, already say it all. Tell me which team weren't lucky to win Champions League? Liverpool ghost goal before, 3-3 AC Milan and won on penalties? Man U won because Terry slip because of the puddle of rainwater?? Or Barcelona knocking Chelsea out because of horrendous referring and lucky late goal from Iniesta?

You should really stop writing, because you're unqualified to do so. 10 men at Nou Camp and you expect Chelsea to play attacking football against Barca?? Are you mad? Even Man United lost TWICE in 3 years against Barca. This Chelsea team is by any mean weakest if compared to recent years.

Winning CL and FA Cup doesn't get you a Chelsea job, tell me what did? Playing beautiful football, and win nothing? Yeah right, I don't know which red you support, but from your article, I assume it's the red that haven't won anything relevant for years.

You say ignorance in regards to tactics but there's no doubting that, regardless of the setup, Chelsea were lucky. Remember - Messi missed a penalty that woud've probably knocked Chelsea out. They were under a lot of pressure and were lucky to pull through.

Maybe Di Matteo made a few decent tactical decisions like Torres etc. but putting a player one the last man isn't exactly a piece of genius. It's a fairly standard method used by many PL teams week in, week out.

Even away from tactics, as I explain, Di Matteo just doesn't cut it for me. I guess we'll see.

I am sorry, but i think your analysis of this is flawed.

"Even the largest of Chelsea fans can admit that, across the three matches versus Barcelona and Bayern Munich, Chelsea were extremely lucky."

Sorry but thats utter ignorance with regards to football tactics. Di Matteo could have played attacking football according to your perception of a attack base type of play but looking at the players he had, it was wise, not lucky, to deploy a defensive formation

Just look at the Barcelona match. The deep triumverate of mikel lampard and miereles harried and broke down the barcelona midfield. While the fast ramires deployed on the left! the left from his usual right, to catch dani alves off guard when he went forward. What happened next? Ramires brilliant chip after exposing dani alves. Torres came on late because RDM knew barcelona got careless commiting too many men forward and torres who plays on the shoulder of the last man could break the offside trap when chelsea cleared. Lucky you say? no this is football tactics and formations which u fail to delve into when you wrote this article

I concede that Di Matteos long terms success is not determined. But please do not doubt his tactical ability. Chelsea were not lucky, they made the best preparations under RDM to maximize their strengths and they deserved their success.

lucky does not even cut it.
