Real Madrid tonight recorded their first victory away to Deportivo La Coruna in the Municipal de Riazor in almost two decades as they won 3-1 to keep the pressure on Primera Division pace-setters Barcelona.

Esteban Granero headed Los Galacticos into the lead early on before French forward Karim Benzema doubled the lead just before the break assisted by a glorious backheel from Guti.

Depor pulled one back in the 87th minute through a Riki penalty, but Madrid consolidated all three points when Karim Benzema found the net for the second time deep into injury time, thanks to some suspect defending.

This result means Real Madrid stay within five points of league leaders Barcelona, who beat Sporting Gijon earlier in the evening.
