The Gyan Asamoah move had been in the air for a few weeks in France. I think the Black Cats may have paid too much for him, but he’s right out of a good World Cup but it makes sense. He is fast and quite good with the ball, but he lacks consistency and his finishing is rather uncertain. I’m curious to see how he’ll perform in the PL.

Birmingham made a couple of smart acquisitions. Beausejour was interesting at the WC and deserves a shot in England.
