well-written. My own opinion of Sturridge is that he’s average. Liverpool have spent £12 million on an alternative option. classic Liverpool overspend. He made an impact against United and scored but also gave 3 totally useless finishes when in a great position. Money not-so-well spent for me

Imagine a front line of Sterling, Suarez and Sturridge? I, as an LFC fan, feel that this is a good signing for us. Last season for Chelsea he was involved in 16 goals in 30 PL apps. More than 1 every 2 games. I personally feel that RDM just didn’t like him therefore didn’t play him, and so he fell down the pecking order.

Looking forward to seeing how he gets on.

Chelsea paid a £6.5million for Sturridge as determined by a tribunal.
While I agree that Rodgers name seem to put off players than get them salivating at the prospect of joining LFC, the Sturridge deal is just about right.
If he doesn’t make it there wont be astronomical losses like those attached to Carroll, Downing and Henderson since a 50% loss on the buying price equates to £6million unlike £17million on Carroll with Liverpool still having to hand money over to Newcastle curtessy of a sell-on clause, £10million on Downing and £8million on Henderson

It is not even in the door and been questioned already. I know you’re a Chelsea fan Ciaran and have seen Sturridge more than myself but do you think Sturridge is been signed for a purpose. At 23 years of age he has experienced his ups and downs.

Clearly Rodgers sees something in him and he has the confidence to fill the jersey which has become so heavy for Liverpool forwards in the past. Which could be of benefit to LFC but we will have to see how it works out.

As for Dean, if you actually check out the facts on Sturridge, he scored 8 goals in 12 while on loan at Bolton and last season scored 11 in 30 League games with 5 assists in a struggling Chelsea side. Liverpool need to add something to support Suarez’s goalscoring. Sturridge’s record testifies he can to a Liverpool side lacking up top. As for Rodgers other signings, Borini got a bad injury not helping him settle at all really. Allen, form has dipped in the last month or so but still like Borini only 22. Sahin, is been underused for one reason or another. Breaking his nose requiring two operations hasn’t helped in the last month but anytime he has started in his natural position he has scored 3 and assisted in 3 goals. Assaidi, looked bright but hasn’t got much of a look in. Off now to the African Nations so won’t be around for a month.

Players are written off to easily nowadays as fans expect an 18-24 year old to be the finished article. Lucas and Jordan Henderson are a example of this in relation to Liverpool supporters. People don’t see the quality because they are blinded by the transfer fee which only hastens the myth that the player is shit.

Sturridge has only scored 13 premier league goals since 2009 ? Chelsea got him on a free ? So Rodgers gives Chelsea £12 million pounds for this NON STRIKER ;-( Chelsea will add another say 10 to 15 million to buy a proper striker ??? Not one of Rodgers signings would get into any of the top 6 premier league squads FACT…Ultimately it’s gonna cost Rodgers his job come MAY 2013 ;-)
