It says more about Coyel and his teams current position than it does Kakuta’s ability. All Coyle saw was the liabilities of having pure attacking left sided player and was too prosaic and short sighted to see the aqdvantages of true talent and vision going forwards. I’m not saying Gakle would definitely have succeeded if given his head but you don’t bring him in unless you’re willing to do exactly that.
