They also deserve great credit for not retaliating to Milan’s bullying and squabbling. Flamini must surely get a retrospective banning for his tackle on Corluka, while Gattuso won’t see CL football for a long time even Milan get through.

This type of Milan is a world away of the great sides of the 90s and even the 00s, even though Nesta, Pirlo and Gattuso are still there.
