Castillo heads for Wolves on loan

Ecuador v Jamaica

Ecuador international Segundo Castillo has joined Wolves on a season long deal from Red Star Belgrade.

The midfielder previously had a spell in the Premier League with Everton and is reunited with his former Red Star teammate Nenad Milijas who arrived at Molineux earlier this summer.

“I’m very happy to be joining Wolves,” he told the club’s official website.

“It’s another chance for me to prove myself in England.

“I hope after the internationals I will get quickly settled into the squad.”

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy expressed his delight at acquiring the 27 year old, who won back to back titles in 2005 and 2006 with El Nacional in his homeland.

“Segundo has good experience, having played in the Premier League for Everton and made 42 international appearances for Ecuador,” said McCarthy.

“He also played for two seasons at Red Star Belgrade with Nenad.

“He will certainly add quality to the squad, and I’m delighted to have brought him in.”
