I guess it'd surprise you to hear I'm not a fan of a Big 4 club, or any PL club for that matter. Get a grip, I wasn't launching a vicious attack on Spurs, and ok so Parker's injured but the point is still valid.

Just calm down, I don't think they'll finish top 4. You don't have to take it so personally

Dembele is clearly an excellent player. dempsey was highest scoring midfielder last year, an acellent pruchase. Gylfi has been player of the year at three diferent clubs three years running (reading, hoffenheim, swansea). Vdv was far more limited than Gylfi. Modric is ofc a huge loss.
However, AVB has already alienated Lloris, with trull idiotic statements. His tactics againts norwich were a joke. Why the hell start with defoe? All his goals come after 60 minutes when defenders are tired. He is basically useless the first hour of any game. The guy seems something of a sociopath.

...well he is not shunning Parker....YET. Parker is injured (he wasn't in the Euros remember?). Parker may not be AVB's cup of tea either. Given the slightly surprising need to push Huddlestone out of the door.

I think the squad is fine. People may bemoan Modric going and King going, but they were both gonna happen. When Man U lost Ronaldo, they replaced with Valencia - good player, but they did not pay for expensive replacement. When Arsenal lost Fabregas, they replaced with Arteta - ditto. They replaced RVP with Giroud/Podolski. They replaced Henry with no one. Losing your best player is never easy, but I personally think that Spurs have done well in replacing Modric with Dembele. When AVB joined I was not expecting top four. But I am expecting a better level of performance by now.

Shun Parker?

The bloke has has Achilles surgery you muppet. Spurs unrealistically high? A 4th. 5th and 4th finish in the last 3 years?

Does my nut in when trolls from the supposed 'Big 4'can't take it when a team threatens their status. Arsenal only got 3rd due to some very dodgy goalkeeping. How an investigation into that hasn't happened is beyond me.

Chavski winnig the CL was a complete fluke and but for two penalty misses would be in the EL now after finishing 6TH in the EPL last year. Fear not though, your russian sugar daddy billionaire will buy another £200M worth of players to appease your fans. I cannot wait until the FFP comes in and Man city and Chelski are made play in the EL.

Before you start spurs spent £50M and sold £65M worth of players so we are not spending.

Spurs need a creative midfielder who can build an attack from deep inside their own half. Such midfielders are few and far between and their vision and clarity are the difference between champions league and others. If Moutinho comes to us in January we have a chance. Otherwise i'd go for 8th place this year. BTW great article but I would have thought the manner of Chelsea's Champions League campaign would have made you stick with AVB?

Dembélé and Dempsey are fairly good players at Premier League level. Sigurdsson is ok, good deal ball specialist, not much more than that. I wouldn't say they're much to shout about for a club with Champions League ambitions. With the losses of Modric & van der Vaart and the popular dressing room figure Redknapp, Spurs look weaker than last year

AVB has a big task on his hands to fulfil Champions League expectations. He'll find it harder to win friends in England if he continues to shun players like Parker who are very popular with the fans and bring a lot to the table, just not in keeping with his philosophy. to be honest, I think your expectations from Spurs are unrealistically high, their squad isn't that inspiring for me. But this is a good read, nice one.
