Fair comment.
Firstly I will stand by my belief that Burnley's victory ranks amongst the greatest shocks in the history of the Premier League. A team who've spent 33 years in the doldrums faces the might of the 3-time reigning champions and comes out on top. A journey man striker volleys in a goal that is an early contender for goal of the season aswell!
Some pundits suggested that Burnley wouldn't pick up any points from their first 6 games. Only Matt Le Tissier, on the Soccer Special Panel, gave Burnley a chance last Wednesday and was roundly laughed at. Paul Merson even said "You should be in a straight jacket!"
Maybe United fans view the trip to Turf Moor as a potential banana skin, but the wider football world, for the most part, predicted that Burnley would put in a gutsy performance, but ultimately fall short.

one of the biggest upsets in the history of the premier league? your having a laugh ya?

this game was set up for them and to call this a massive shock is laughable. i knew this would be a tough game and so did Fergie. even on the main United forum, people were saying that we would defo drop 2 points at least.

Burnley were within seconds of getting to the carling cup final lasy year and have beaten several top clubs in the premier league last year in both cups. a great result for them, but give them some credit. adding the sensationalist opening is good for headlines, but in reality, once the initial hype dies down, this is just a football game. all the top teams lose games like this, surely Hull going to the Emrates last year and winning is much bigger for one.

As regards United, it doesnt even come close to the 2 games (6-3, 3-1) against Southampton or the 5-0 hammering in 99 as European champions to Chelsea. They also lost to Wolves, the most costly defeat of any game in the league this decade as top not only beat bottom, but also was the result that sent united from odds on winners, to failures.
