Nike have officially unveiled Brazil’s official 3rd kit for the 2014 World Cup – their first ever. And as you can seen from the pictures below the kit is a departure from the traditional colours associated with the Seleção.
Rather than bright yellow or blue the kit is a distinctive hue of green – so dark it could be mistaken for black by the untrained eye. The shade of green is an apparent homage to Brazil’s lush jungle and vibrant nightlife. In addition the inside of the shirt features a design of a hand in a ‘figa’ – a symbol similar to the fingers crossed gesture – meaning goodluck.
The shorts are longer than usual football shorts – a nod to Brazil’s love of surfing – and also feature bright horizontal stripes in the traditional colours of Brazilian football.
3rd kits are a rare enough sight in international football, and to be honest it’s doubtful wether this kit will see much action. Nevertheless we think its a beauty. Give us your thoughts in the comments below.
