BPF continues to grow in 2013

As BackPageFootball reaches its fourth anniversary this weekend, we are delighted to welcome two new faces to the editorial team.

Over the past few weeks BPF received more than 20 excellent applications for the editor role and after much debate we were unable to separate Barry Landy and Conor Donnelly so have decided to welcome both on board.

They will join the existing team of Kevin Coleman, Neil Sherwin and Ollie Kavanagh ahead of what promises to be an exciting European football season.

Currently based in Dublin, Barry is the man behind the excellent Down in the Box and The Emerald Exiles websites and has been a contributor to BPF for a number of years. He has also written for the likes of Shoot magazine, Lovely Left Foot and The Elastico amongst others so brings a wealth of writing experience to the team.

Barry will be our man on the ground in the nation’s capital as we look to grow our coverage of both the League of Ireland and the national team. He was nominated for the “Best Young Blogger” Award at the prestigious NOPAs in 2011.

Conor also has an excellent background in the online writing world having set up the hugely popular GAA Scores in 2012. With more than 15,000 followers on Twitter, GAA Scores has grown massively in what is a very niche market.

Residing in Spain will allow Conor to keep on top of one of the game’s most popular leagues and he is also experienced in the podcasting world which will only benefit our own Hold the Back Page.

The aim over the coming 12 months is to grow the site even more and both Barry and Conor will be essential components in bringing you some excellent football features.

Please join us in welcoming them!
