Bohemians and Waterford United will meet in the final of the EA Sports Cup after victories over Sligo Rovers and UCD respectively in the semi finals.
Premier Division leaders Bohs needed extra time to overcome a resiliant Rovers side 4-2 in Dalymount Park, with goals from Ken Oman and Joseph Ndo finally settling the tie.
Sligo had earlier been reduced to ten men following the dismissal of Martin Camano at a time when they were leading 1-0.
Bohs equalised through Neale Fenn, however the visitors battled to a 2-1 lead thanks to a penalty from Alan Keane, before a late Paul Keegan reply took the game to extra time.
Meanwhile, Waterford United saw off UCD 3-1 at the UCD Bowl in a game that was deadlocked until the 58th minute.
United’s Kenny Browne opened the scoring, heading home a corner, and a Graham Cummins brace put the result beyond doubt.
The home side grabbed a consolation late on through Ronan Finn, while The Students Chris Mulhall saw red.
The final of the EA Sports Cup will be played at either Dalymount Park or the RCS on September 26, with the toss of a coin likely to decide the venue.
