Blue is the colour

Striker Didier Drogba is this week’s biggest in for Neil Sherwin as his fantasy football team get firmly aboard the Chelsea bandwagon.

Sorry Crouchy but you’re killing me. A quite frankly horrendous three point haul from three games means the big man with a great touch has gotten the bullet.

In his place comes Didier Drogba, and the Ivorian also takes over the captain’s armband with a home game against surprise package Burnley this weekend. It was a straight toss up between himself and Frank Lampard but Drogba has been in great form lately, amassing three goals and two assists so far.

To clear some funds to make that move I was forced to sacrifice Andrei Arshavin, but I don’t envisage Arsenal winning at Old Trafford without Cesc Fabregas so I’m quite happy with the switch. Flying Spurs winger Aaron Lennon comes into the fold as I think he could score well at home to Birmingham.

I’ve gone for Jussi Jaaskelainen in goal ahead of Joe Hart and I’m hoping Bolton will stifle a rattled Liverpool at the Reebok. The Finnish international could pick up some points for shots saved in this one, and there is a chance, albeit probably a slim one, of a clean sheet.

The only question mark this week is over John O’Shea who seems to have been relegated to bench duty for Manchester United. I’ve decided to bench him in favour of Charles N’Zogbia, though there is an injury doubt over Ryan Shawcross so O’Shea may still be required. James McFadden drops out of the first eleven after a poor last gameweek.

Gareth Barry and Mark Noble have been solid performers so far and could both potentially score will this weekend, while I’ll also be hoping that Darren Bent tells Kenwyn Jones that it’s his turn to score again.

Last week we managed a respectable 50 points. The decision to pick Gareth Barry as captain didn’t go too badly due to his three bonus points, though he was outscored by Shawcross (8 points) and Ashley Cole (7 points).Joe Hart’s clean sheet also went down well.

My strikers let me down however with Bent and McFadden only mustering four points between them.

At present we sit 82,536th out of 1,896,805 total players.

Team for Gameweek 4 –
