I am delighted for Birmingham. Yesterdays game was a great story for the Carling Cup and it was a thoroughly deserved win for the Blues.

I doubt many would have believed Birmingham could have won it (I certainly didn't) but they gave Arsenal a great game and on reflection, it was probably one of the most entertaining finals in years.

Well done to Nikola Zigic for writing off his critics by scoring the goal that gave Birmingham the advantage. Van Persie levelled with a rasping volley, which surely defies physics and substitute Martins will not have an easy part to play in order to become an instant cult hero.

Great game and a great achievement for Birmingham.
