Boateng lost his place at CB at the start of the season and only regained it when Van Buyten was injured. He improved a lot after this but in the last two months has been very poor, his performances against Dortmund in the league and cup recently show he is far too rash at the moment while badstuber lacks confidence he has much better positional sense but relies on a holding midefielder. Why would Badtuber be Germany’s first choice CB if he wasn’t the best CB at Bayern?
