Become an editor at Back Page Football

Back Page Football has been steered by two pairs of hands since its beginning in 2009. With the increased work load, we’ve decided it’s time to invite applications for another co-editor at the website.

We’re looking for a dedicated football lover with an interest in the world of online blogging and football-dedicated websites. The ideal candidate will be social media savvy and have experience editing or at the very least writing about football online. They will have the initiative ┬áto think of unique content and communicate with our writers in following through with it, as well as bring new ideas to the table so that we are constantly improving Back Page Football.

Tasks will include:

  • Editing and scheduling content
  • Contributing to content wherever possible
  • Brainstorming and organising feature content
  • Liaising with contributors and columnists for future content
  • Updating our social media pages
  • General housekeeping

Experience with WordPress is helpful but not entirely necessary. Also, such is the direction online football content has taken, the ability to create images and GIFs would be a bonus. Previous editing experience is not hugely necessary, but clearly a very strong grasp of spelling and grammar is required.

To apply, simply fill out the submission below and we’ll make a decision in the coming weeks. It’s important to note that this is not a paid job, everyone involved with Back Page Football works on purely a voluntary basis and we will never ask for the site to be put ahead of your work and family commitments. That being said, if you cannot dedicate some time to the website then there’s no need to apply.
