Former Celtic defender Bobo Balde has returned to France to join Valenciennes having spent a number of weeks on trial with the club.
The 34 year old had been without a club since leaving Celtic Park in the summerand has signed a one year deal with the Lique 1 side.
“I was here a month ago and the coach wanted to see how I was doing,” Balde told the club’s website.
“There was a small setback then and we had to wait, but they called me back a few days ago so I cam back. I was very happy with the news and signed this afternoon.”
Balde joined Celtic in 2001 from Toulouse and won four Scottish league titles while also appearing in the final of the Uefa Cup in 2003, a game in which he was sent off.
He has also played 27 times for Guinea.
