One baffling omission is that of Michael Carrick, who is in the process of winning his fifth Premier League winners medal in his sixth season at the club. Before Scholes’ arrival Carrick kept United ticking over with near perfect performances, and alongside Scholes they have turned an eight point deficit with ManCity into a five point lead.

Can’t argue with the selections. Pretty solid choices for me.

As far as the ‘candidates go’, not so sure about Evans. His partner, Ferdinand, on the other hand, has looked at his best form in a couple of years these past few months. Also, Kyle Walker is absolute tosh

All Leon Britton has done is pass the ball backwards 5 yards, if that, as far as I’m concerned.

Hatem Ben Arfa is a good player, yes, but has only really started to blossom recently, in the last few months or so, and this is team of the ‘season’.

For me, John Ruddy of Norwich should be included as he’s been superb for the Canaries this term in their quest for survival (something they’ve breezed to be honest).

And also Juniour Hoilett at Blackburn. If James McClean deserves to be mentioned, then in my humble opinion so does he as he’s been brilliant for Rovers. The only bright spark in what is a rather dull, ordinary Blackburn outfit.

I dont think sturridge is a good choice. He did start of brightly but somehwta fizzled out in the end. Most recently his lack of awareness is really stressing me out. How about Leon Britton? and perhaps Hatem Ben Arfa?

Not convinced Evans and Sturridge deserve to be selected. I would have rather picked Ivanovic (right back/central def) and Larsson. Also, Cech has had a terrific season.
