Ya, good shout regarding Wigan/Arsenal. To be honest it did slip my mind. I wish I’d been writing a few of these moments down during the season, it’s incredibly difficult trying to think it all back now!

You’ll be happy to see that Zenden’s goal was included in the goal of the year poll elsewhere on the site!

Wigan’s comeback against Arsenal was defo one of the games of the season! Unbelievable game! Deserves a mention at least.

Zendens goal v Spurs deserves a mention too!

@ braveheartspawn, good shout with Rafa’s decision to take off Torres at Birmingham being one of the worst. I can see chapters in future autobiographies pinpointing that moment as when he lost the dressing room once and for all. Probably deserved of an honorable mention.

Ya actually, Roque Santa Cruz is a glaring omission from the flop section, apologies! Lescott hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory following the big move either. It’s probably the fact that City had enough alternatives to cover for them that meant that their shortcomings weren’t noticed so much.

Downing on the other hand featured quite a lot and rarely offered much. Roque is still possibly a bigger flop however.

worst decision?

anyone martin atkinson made when united played chelsea at stamford bridge, perhaps the worst display of officiating in a big game in years.

rinse and repeat for the game at old trafford and mike deane.

hull v burnley game was also pathetic.

Very good article…some excellent memories on a season that many said was poor due to the bug four not been the forces they once used to be…great to see other teams stealing the spot light for a bit! As for flops of the season its hard to look past Aquilani, I also think Rafa’s subsitute decisions (Torres vs Birmingham) deserve a mention…just look at the video of gerrard’s reaction to the substitution, as for improved player the two you selected are probably correct but other mentions would be Damian Duff, Florent Malouda. A great article….enjoyed it…cant wait for next season!!!

Very good piece!!! Didn’t think u’d have the stomach to stick good ole Berbatov in there! Pool deserve their mention, shocking season. Im of the personal belief that should Bentitez leave this summer we’re almost if not worse off than when Houllier left five years ago, people are quick to forget this but had Houllier not delivered 4th spot that season, ISTANBUL would never have happened!!! Another interesting fact on the Mighty Rafa is that in five seasons, twice he finished outside the top 4, despite spending millions upon millions!! RAFA OUT!!!
